Christmas Gift Guide 2011

gift-guide-2011

Welcome to the Marquis of Fashion‘s 2011 Christmas Gift Guide!

This year I was really torn about which gifts to include and which to skip. It was hard! I want to tell you to go out and buy all the pretty shinnies that are new in department stores buuuuuut… instead I think I will share with you only the most useful fashion necessities that I simply couldn’t live without!

For Men

A Valet! – $109.00

No, not a cute valet boy who will pick up your beamer and dent it while parking it for you then expect a tip, no. I am referring to the kind that is essential to getting ready the next morning. This Valet will hang your pants, shirt, and coat for you so it isn’t wrinkled the next day. It will present to you your jewelry (watch etc.), accessories (pocket square, belt, tie, etc.), as well as all of your fully charged electronics in a neat orderly fashion. Did I mention it also holds your shoes that have been picked out specially the night before for your perfect street style ready outfit? Oh and it takes up next to no room and comes in a great dark wood finish!

Christmas Gift Guide 2011

Never scurry around again in the early hours of the morning bumping into things as your try to match your tie to your pocket square in the dark while your partner is cursing at you from your bed.

Save your marriage with this awesome Valet system!

ETON of Sweden Shirts – $350.00

Though ETON of Sweden is a divine brand that carries the best men’s shirts around and releases new collections 10 times a year; the ETON 507 71 collection is a collection of shirts that goes above and beyond the ETON shirts you may be used to. They are funky, full of style, and rich with detail. These shirts will make you laugh and love. What could be better for the holiday season?Christmas Gift Guide 2011

Modern Tailor Custom Fit Shirts $20 – $250

Is the man in your life not a typical small, medium, or large size? Arms too long or short? Torso significantly slimmer than his shoulders? Whatever the case, men come in all shapes and sizes and if they want a shirt that really fits I recommend a Modern Tailor shirt. I own two and I LOVE them! Not only do they fit like a glove (insert O.J. Simpson joke here), but they can come in any of their over 500 fabrics and they have countless options in terms of selecting the collar, cuffs, buttons, monogram, pockets, etc. The lengths that Modern Tailor will go for their customers are intense! Trust me I’m a picky fashion blogger and they got my orders perfect!Christmas Gift Guide 2011

Revolving Belt and Tie Rack with light – $25.00

This is a marvelous invention and comes in handy for those dark nights when I’m digging in my closet for a particular tie or belt for the evening in the deep dark reaches of my closet. It is a tie and belt rack that has a light on it that rotates and shows you in a divine way your tie and belt options. It also keeps everything nicely separated so as to avoid snags etc. This simple invention is guaranteed to add years to your life as it cuts stress out of your life like a hot knife through butter! WHAT? Picking a tie is stressful!Revolving Belt and Tie Rack with light

Pearls!

Not traditionally a man’s gift, pearls are becoming quite the trend and are being worn by men in all tax brackets, of all ethnicity’s, as well as in many countries. Now I’m not talking a string of your grandmothers pearls, I am referring to the rugged look of a string of baroque Tahitian peals on a mans wrist, or a simple singular pearl as a feature piece on a necklace, or probably the most popular, cufflinks. Tahitian pearls are blackish in color and can have great luster. I recommend doing some research on what kind of jewelry the man you are shopping for normally wears and then go from there (PS, I asked my friend that runs Pearls of Joy.com, and is graciously agreed to give all Marquis readers a %15 discount, this isn’t  a plug, just trying to save you all some cash during the Holidays, Just enter Marquis15 if you get yourself or your man some pearls this season)Christmas Gift Guide 2011

Now that you know what you are getting the man who has everything, it’s time to focus on your self or E-mail this 2011 Christmas Gift Guide to your partner so they can look at the great gifts for women listed below.

For Women

Pink Jiffy J4000 Proline Commercial Garment Steamer – $249.00

This AMAZING tool is listed at #1 because if you don’t own a steamer, well, then… you just won’t understand. A steamer, no, wait… A Good Steamer is like owning a professional dry cleaner that takes 1 minute to start up about 10 minutes (for an inexperienced steam master) to steam your clothes, and then an other worldly feeling of perfection that floats along with you and your wrinkle-free garments as you go about your day! I should also mention that a good garment steamer removes bacteria trapped in clothes that can sometimes lead to odors! GROSS! But yeah it can abolish nasty smells in clothes! That’s worth this small investment HANDS DOWN!

Christmas Gift Guide 2011

Oh and the jiffy Steamer comes in boring taupe and PINK! Now that’s marketing to your audience!

… Yes… I have the pink one…

Moving along!

Stiletto Bookends – $150.00

If there is one thing I can’t stand in my place or the place of others I visit, it’s their nasty @ss bookends that resemble… a flower or something. Lets jazz these paper relics up with some fierce bookends shall we? These fabulous stiletto ends are likely the best bet for holding up all of your Vogue’s or romance novels. Rest assured that when I enter your house for a couple bottles of wine, I will compliment you on your choice of fabulous book accessories instead of judging you if you had say… a couple gross glass dolphins inadvertently flipping you and your guests off. Avoid the wrath of a fashion blogger and pick up these bangin bookends now!Christmas Gift Guide 2011

HANAair Hair Dryer – $194.99 (on sale from $350.00)

This super powerful ceramic infused hair dryer is the only hair tool you will ever need! It blows like a reverse hoover and actually adds beauty and strength to your hair as it goes! You know that one thing on a desert island question? I’d take my HANAair hands down!Christmas Gift Guide 2011

Proenza Schouler PS1 handbag - $1150.00 – $5250.00

This bag has to be the most covetted bag on the face of the planet… next to the Birken… and select Louis Styles… or some Marc Jacobs… oh and that Marni from a few season back… okay well it’s amazing none-the-less and trust me when I say this. You will love this bag! The price tag is a bit steep but when you consider that the leather is all made in Italy and you are getting a luxury bag that is also extremely functional with 4 pockets, 2 metal zips, and all authentic metal finishes… it is worth it. The bag will sing in your hands as you carry it.Christmas Gift Guide 2011

Tiffany Sunglasses – $220.00 – $480.00

The Tiffany sunglasses are the most overlooked brand when it comes to shades. Possibly because when people walk into the store where nothing bad can ever happen they immediately get distracted by all the diamonds and pretty shinnies. In any event here I am protecting you from snow blindness with your new pair of Tiffany face candy. I think Tiffany could have taken this opportunity to pump out some exorbitantly priced sunglasses for their affluent clients, but instead they decided to make a really reasonable, accessible, beautiful product that can be worn to any number of occasions.Christmas Gift Guide 2011

That is the list of all things Christmas and if you get your partner or special someone anyone of these things they are guaranteed to love you even more! Just Kidding! They already love you hence the present swapping. No, in the end it is the thought that counts, these are just pleasant ideas that won’t leave you in the doghouse this Xmas!
